Age divisions are as follows:
Girls~
0-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-11, 12 &up
Boys~
0-3, 4-6, 7+
The age your child is or will be on the day of the pageant will determine the age division you enter. In the event we have to combine or split age divisions you will be notified as soon as we make this determination. You may request to move up or down an age division if your birthday is close to the pageant or you have a sibling who is competing in your age division. Final decisions will be made exclusively by the Director(s).
Coaching and escorting:
All children 0-2 must be escorted on stage, 3-4 year olds may be escorted on stage if they do not feel comfortable going on stage alone. We ask that the escort wear dark colors so there is no distraction from your child, after all, we want to see them shine. Coaching children from behind the judges is fine as long as it is not excessive and distracting to the judges. It would be best if you could teach your child as much of the routine as possible before pageant day because eye contact is a very important part of our scoring. The stage will be marked with three X's that you need to use, however when helping your child with their beauty/modeling routines have them use the entire stage (among other things, judges will watch for entire use of stage and eye contact).
Beauty/formal wear attire:
Girls:
0-6: a short formal party dress or cupcake style dress, white socks and white dress shoes.
7-9: a short formal party dress or cupcake style dress or long pageant style dress, white socks and white dress shoes or short heels.
10-12: long ball gown type dresses are preferred but short formal party dresses or cupcake style dresses are acceptable as long as they are worn with white socks and white dress shoes. With long dresses, short heels or dressy sandals are allowed.
13 and up: should wear long ball gown or fancy prom style dresses and heels. No flats.
Boys:
all ages: should wear suits or tuxedos and dress shoes
All contestants:
Semi-Glitz: Age appropriate make-up, fake hair as long as it looks natural, eye lashes, nails, and tanning are all allowed but not required (no points will be deducted if you want to be natural, however you may need a little make up so your child does not get washed out on stage). Flippers (fake teeth) are not allowed. Because we have the semi glitz touch, dresses, tuxedos, and suits are encouraged to have some bling but it is certainly not required. Hairpieces (bows, flowers, clips) that match your dress are fine as long as they are not excessive and distracting. Jewelry should be kept to a minimum (earrings and necklace). No hats, canes, furs, wraps, cover ups, boas or props. We will provide appropriate music for beauty modeling. Contestants should be prepared with a 60 second slow paced, graceful routine.
